Here are a few pictures of the dorm:
Maastricht is beautiful! The streets are cobblestone, some are well-organized and some are twisty, and easy to get lost on. The weather was beautiful today but it started to storm tonight.
We started off the day with a really good breakfast, nutella is abundant here. :) Then we had a tour of the city and university buildings which are spread out throughout the town, and an introductory meeting to all of the university extra-curricular activities, there are debates and classes in the bars, and i've heard "let's discuss this over a drink" at least ten times today. It's so much a part of everyday life, it's like us running to sonic.
Then we had lunch in the university cafeteria. The food here is really good, very meat and potatoes but good. The soup is delicious. They give us a lot of food.
After lunch we had a three hour cultural communication seminar which was a good reminder for how to interact with people.
As our group was leaving the seminar a couple of good-looking dutch students stopped us and told us they needed a crowd for a European Masters Thesis Award presentation. It was actually really interesting, it was all about the economics of the euro and the effect it is having on eastern and central Europe. It was fun.
We ran home (to our dorms) and ate. Now we've all been figuring out our internet stuff and skype video chatting in the same room. I really like the people I am here with. Skylar is one of the guys from Antioch, it's been really cool to have him here and the accountability, like this morning he asked how my quiet time was... with everyone talking about getting a drink and the upcoming carnival it's nice to hear that question.
